The Bronze Bow~ Book Review

The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare is about a boy named Daniel bar Jamin who lived in Galilee during Jesus’ time. In the beginning of the book, Daniel is homeless and lives with outlaws in the mountains until Simon, one of Daniels friends gives him his house, because he is going to follow Jesus. Daniel dislikes the Romans, so Daniel and his friend Joel organize a group of boys who also dislike the Romans.

The boys meet secretly and form ideas of how to cause trouble for the Romans.  Meanwhile Daniel has the opportunity to listen to Jesus. Jesus tells Daniel to love the Romans, his enemies. If you are looking for a book that has adventure and conflict in it you will enjoy the Bronze Bow.  It is an excellent book.

Review- Papa Was a Preacher

Thursday I went to a play. It was called Papa Was a Preacher. It was so funny. The play was set in the 1920s in a small town in Texas. It was a about five teenagers and their parents. They have this crazy neighbor named Miss Jones and she is always finding something that they were there doing wrong. For example,  the girls can't skateboard and Miss Jones is always taking pictures of them. The funniest part was when the boys go and defend there cotton, when they come back they sing "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again". That was the best part of the whole play. At the  end one of the boys runs away just before there parents 25th Ann. The oldest son goes to find him. The oldest son found his brother who ran away and brought him back home.
